Children’s Caucus Shines Light on Children’s Policy Issues in the 2018 Legislative Session

For several years, the Children’s Caucus has been a way to educate legislators and the public about various children’s policy issues. There will be 4-5 Children’s Caucus sessions during the 2018 legislative session. The Caucus gatherings are held over the lunch hour in committee hearing rooms at the Capitol, and are open to the public. Caucus schedule and topics will be released in early January. Presenters are currently being sought.

This is a particularly important year to highlight children’s policy issues given many changes occurring at the federal level in conjunction with state and local issues here in Colorado. Applications to present at the Children’s Caucus are being accepted through January 5th at 5:00pm. Applications are available at www.childlawcenter.org/advocate

The Children’s Caucus is hosted by Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center with support from Noble Energy. The Caucus is co-chaired by Representative Jonathan Singer, Senator John Kefalas, Senator Jim Smallwood, and will soon fill the vacancy left by the departure of Representative Dan Nordberg.
