Avery is 12 and has a severe learning disability. He lives with his grandmother, and she wasn’t sure how to help him with his frustration with schoolwork, or get him what he needed. They were referred to the Law Center’s Education program, and an attorney helped them understand how Individualized Education Plans work. Avery’s grandmother spoke with his teachers, armed with the new information, and now Avery has a plan that works for him. He is now testing at or above grade level and no longer struggles with nightly homework frustration.
