Brandy joined the Children’s Law Center in November 2020 with the expansion of the Safe Babies Court Program to Arapahoe County. She came to the position with over 12 years of experience in mental health and child welfare, bringing knowledge in infant and maternal mental health, attachment, and the effects of trauma on the developing brain. Brandy’s past experiences include providing counseling to parents and children in the child welfare system; providing therapeutic supervision and trauma training to foster parents; and serving as a subject matter expert/program consultant for CASA of the Pikes Peak Region’s supervised parenting program. Brandy works from a trauma-responsive lens with a passion for the well-being of children and a desire to heal and empower families.

Halloween! The harvest moon, the crispness of fall, the smell of wood-burning stoves fighting off the chill, a bowl of chili and cup of hot cocoa, a high school football game and school carnival, and trick-or-treating in a small town where we knew everyone and almost every house on every street handed out candy or quarters.
