Daniel

Daniel was 7 when his parents passed away – terribly, his father killed his mother and then himself, leaving Daniel in the house alone. Daniel called Marta, a close family friend, who was given temporary custody by the court. Marta speaks only Spanish, and didn’t always understand the paperwork or legal terminology. She was referred to the Law Center and provided with a translator, who helped her understand that she might be able to adopt Daniel. Now 12, Daniel was adopted two years ago and still sees the therapist he was referred to during the adoption. He calls Marta his angel – and we agree!
