RMCLC Executive Director Betsy Fordyce Announces Departure

It is with a mix of sadness and deep gratitude that the Board of Directors announces the departure of Betsy Fordyce as Executive Director of the Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center, effective April 1, 2023.

Betsy first joined the Law Center in 2008 as a staff attorney, and since then, has worn many hats in supporting children, youth, and families across Colorado. Her strong leadership, especially in the Executive Director role, has promoted the Children’s Law Center’s legacy of relentless advocacy on behalf of young people.

Betsy’s passion will be greatly missed by the staff, Board, partners, and supporters alike. We wish her the best of luck in her next chapter, and we are committed to continuing her efforts as we select a new leader for the organization.

The Board of Director will immediately commence a thorough search to identify the next Executive Director of the Children’s Law Center. You can find the job posting here. It is our priority to find a strong advocate to continue to promote the incredible programming of this organization. We are working with Betsy and staff to ensure a smooth transition. Should you have any questions or concerns during this process, please do not hesitate to email us at vasb@puvyqynjpragre.bet.

Sincerely,

Anna Reinert, Chair, Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center

From Betsy Fordyce, Executive Director, Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center

After almost fifteen years with the Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center, I recently announced to the Board of Directors that I will be leaving my role as Executive Director at the end of March 2023. I have such a mix of emotions as I enter this transition, and yet I know the time is right for new adventures, both for me and for the Children’s Law Center.

Since my law school days, I have been called to this place and this work because I believe so intently that children, youth, and families deserve strong advocates, standing up for them and empowering them to stand up for themselves. I have seen the Children’s Law Center transition in so many ways across the last decade and a half, and I can honestly say I have never been prouder of our advocacy, and of our staff. These are individuals who work tirelessly to do right by young people in our communities. It is their passion, their commitment, and their tenacity that will take the organization into its next chapter.

I will forever be the biggest supporter of the Children’s Law Center. I’m so grateful for the opportunities that this organization has provided to me. It has changed my life for the better in countless ways. I am also indebted to this larger Children’s Law Center community. Thank you for all of the ways that you show up for our organization. Collectively, we have made Colorado a better place for young people, consistently removing barriers so that they have the opportunity to thrive. I hope to connect with many of you over the next couple of months of this transition, but I am also excited to stand alongside you as we champion this organization far into the future.

With incredible gratitude,

Betsy Fordyce – osbeqlpr@puvyqynjpragre.bet
